Verdure Kitchen & Cocktails is a distinctive oasis where Western and African ingredients, spices and cooking unite to form an unforgettable culinary experience. The restaurant is led by Chef Jean Louis Sangare , renowned for his distinctive & diverse culinary cuisine.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback to join our team. As a Barback, you will play a crucial role in supporting the bartenders and ensuring that the bar operates smoothly. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food and drink preparation, and providing excellent service to enhance the customer experience. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for the food service industry.

Responsibilities

As a Barback, you would be responsible for helping bartenders provide efficient customer service. As the bartenders’ extra set of hands, your job as barback is to support anything and everything behind the bar. You’ll be responsible for maintaining stock, assisting during service and providing support for all your bartenders' needs. There's potential opportunity for growth as many bartenders start as barbacks.

• Clean/wipe down bar area counters, furniture, and tabletops
• Wash glasses and dishes
• Handle drink spills and broken glassware
• Restock and replenish liquor, garnishes, and bar supplies
• Change beer kegs
• Empty trash and refill ice wells

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Outgoing and engaging personality
• Proactive at identifying and completing work needs
• Ability to assess station needs and act accordingly
• Great spoken and written communication
• Ability to follow directions and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling safety standards is a plus.
• Must have the ability to multi-task. Ability to work with little supervision.
