**Job Title:** Lot Technician for Greenhouse Garden Center

**Status:** Full-Time / Part-Time (Seasonal options available)
**Rate of Pay:** $13-$15/hr BOE

Job Summary
The Lot Technician is primarily responsible for the watering program and facility maintenance at our garden center. This physically active role focuses on ensuring plants receive proper irrigation, maintaining the grounds, and operating equipment necessary for daily operations. The position is essential to supporting our garden center's operational efficiency and plant health.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily watering schedules for all outdoor plant areas according to seasonal needs and plant requirements
- Perform routine facility maintenance tasks including repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance
- Operate equipment including forklifts and/or tractors for moving heavy materials and inventory
- Assist with garden center layout changes and seasonal transitions
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems, hoses, and watering equipment
- Participate in receiving and unloading of bulk deliveries (soil, mulch, stone, etc.)
- Keep outdoor areas clean, organized, and safe for customers including sweeping, debris removal, and snow clearing in winter
- Assist customers with loading heavy purchases when needed
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
- Support special projects and seasonal preparation as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Forklift and/or tractor operation experience strongly preferred (certification a plus)
- Basic mechanical and maintenance skills required
- Experience with irrigation systems and watering techniques beneficial
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
- Valid driver's license required
- Basic understanding of facility maintenance and repair
- Reliability and good attendance record
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail

- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
- Lifting and carrying heavy items regularly
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Operating machinery and equipment safely (forklifts, tractors, power tools)
