Head Baker – Artisan Bakery (Chicago, IL)

We are a well-established artisan bakehouse in Chicago seeking an experienced Head Baker to lead our team. We specialize in high-quality, handcrafted bagels, breads, and baked goods, using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate baker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is eager to take ownership of production and innovation.

• Oversee daily production.
• Lead and train a team of bakers and support staff to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Maintain high standards for product consistency, texture, and flavor.
• Manage production schedules, inventory, and ingredient ordering.
• Work closely with management to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot baking equipment as needed.

• Minimum 3years of professional baking experience , with at least 1year in a leadership role .
• Strong expertise in bagel-making, bread baking, and fermentation techniques.
• Ability to manage high-volume production without compromising quality.
• Leadership skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
• Experience in scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
• Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends as needed.
• ServSafe or food handler certification preferred.
