Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong Data Engineering expertise. The ideal candidate will have deep technical proficiency across Java, Python, AWS, and modern data platforms, coupled with solid client management and team leadership skills. A strong understanding of the mortgage industry, solution design, and security architecture patterns is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and implementation of data-driven solutions aligned with Freddie Mac s business and technology strategy. Define end-to-end solution architectures integrating application, data, and cloud components. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable architectural solutions. Ensure architecture adherence to security, compliance, and governance standards. Architect and optimize data pipelines and data integration workflows using Python, PySpark, and related tools. Provide architectural guidance for microservices-based systems built on Java and Spring Boot. Drive cloud-native solution development leveraging AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift). Manage and mentor development and data engineering teams; promote architectural best practices. Partner with Freddie Mac leadership to ensure architectural alignment with enterprise direction.
Required Skills & Experience:10+ years of overall IT experience, with 5+ years in a Solution Architect role. Strong background in the Mortgage or Financial Services industry. Hands-on experience with: Java, Spring Boot (for microservices and application design) Python, PySpark (for data processing and analytics) PostgreSQL, MongoDB (for relational and NoSQL data management) AWS Cloud Platform (for cloud architecture, data pipelines, and infrastructure services) Strong understanding of Solution Architecture and Security Architecture principles and patterns. Expertise in microservice-based architecture and data architecture patterns (e.g., data lake, data mesh, event-driven design). Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage client relationships effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
