Under the general direction of the Supervising Property Appraiser (SPA) of the Legal Entity Ownership Program, the Junior Property Appraiser (JPA) performs the routine duties involved in analyzing and processing statements, records, and other documents for changes in control or changes in ownership of legal entities, as it pertains to property reassessment. The incumbent focuses on issues involving the less complex real property matters in the area of changes in control and ownership.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.

Working Conditions

• Telework is available fifty percent (50%) of the time.

• Standard office environment (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.).

• Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time.

• Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.

• Must be able to move/transport materials and equipment weighing up to twenty-five pounds (25lbs.), with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Travel required ten percent (10%) of the time.

• Position requires employee to have and maintain a valid: California Driver’s License.

• Attain a Board of Equalization (BOE) appraiser certification within the first year of employment.

• Computer proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and database systems.

• Travel may be required throughout the state up to ten percent (10%) of the time by automobile and airplane.

Statement of Qualifications
