Job Description



AECOM  is seeking a Senior Environmental Geologist to oversee environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Pocasset, MA office. This position will support the Environmental business line.

The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel, and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The job responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage field and office tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
  • Take on project management tasks including budgeting, schedule and scope development and tracking.
  • Data management, evaluation, and writing of environmental investigation reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Periodic travel to project locations including driving.
  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Candidate will be expected to complete the AECOM Project Manager Certification program.

Qualifications



MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • BA/BS in Geology, Geological Sciences, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • Master's Degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in the site assessment and remediation consulting field
  • Strong knowledge of field-sampling procedures, soil boring/monitoring well installations for site characterization
  • Understanding of remedial implementation, analytical data interpretation, and reporting
  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate
  • Task management and/or project management experience
  • Experience working under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
