Banner Health is looking for an experienced Technology Education Specialist to join our Education Team at Banner Corporate Center Mesa, AZ. This position supports a fluid workforce by assisting in the EHR education of a growing new graduate population, rapid onboarding of ECL staff, and is actively involved in the expanding Resident and Fellow onboarding and required EHR Education throughout Banner Health. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for enhancing clinical practice in relation to computerized documentation for coordinating, organizing, preparing, and conducting education and training programs for clinicians and maintaining records of training activities, employee progress and program effectiveness. These programs will increase the productivity of employees by enhancing their knowledge of the assigned applications. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Assesses, plans, develops and delivers clinical curriculum, educational materials and developmental programs and services for the region/system related to staff needs and quality and safety drivers. Incorporate evidence based practices, errors training and adult learning principles into all education and training programs. Delivers standard content, materials and learning opportunities that include clinical and technical education. Facilitates learning utilizing multiple modalities appropriate to the content and the learner by adopting innovation and embracing technology to deliver on learning needs and accomplish learning goals. Develops mechanisms for providing basic, intermediate, and advanced training by analyzing and responding to the needs of the customer. 2. Designs curriculums specific to end user requirements for applications and systems. Participates in the initial rollout and ongoing training of the user community. Course curriculums will specifically focus on a cohesive approach to the training and developmental needs of the customer. 3. Develops technical documentation materials as well as computer based training modules that can be accessed online (i.e. placing reference material and demonstration type documentation on the Intranet.) 4. Evaluates learning effectiveness and quality of the programs by developing perceptual feedback tools; knowledge based testing and skills assessment. Evaluates and modifies educational opportunities as needed. Coordinates and communicates feedback from learners to ensure learning needs are met and continuous quality plans to enhance delivery of training programs including establish an effective learning environment. 5. Participates in unit, facility or system committees and teams in an educational capacity. Participates on committees and teams that investigate activities regarding new clinical and technical educational programs to increase quality and standards of care for the assigned location. 6. Participates, identifies, investigates, tracks and resolves minor project, system or application errors during curricula testing. Shares information and issues discovered during that process to the defining and designing teams. 7. This position has responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The key challenges of this job are to be able to participate on teams effectively; work in a partnership with numerous departments and meet published timelines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires knowledge and experience as typically obtained through the completion of an Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience. Requires intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge using spreadsheet, database and other standard business applications as well as proven experience as an effective adult educator. Requires effective written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Must have experience working in a multi-division health care organization. Demonstrate ability to work with groups and teams in planning and implementing change. Individual must have a fundamental knowledge of organizational development strategies. Must have experience with preparing technical documentation, and be proficient with Adult Learning Principles. Minimum of two years of technical training in PC development environments and technologies required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Organizational Learning Development, or Computer Sciences with a concentration in Adult Learning Curriculum development preferred.
